The Guardian Angel prayer has roots in Christian tradition, where angels are seen as divine protectors assigned to individuals. This belief has evolved over centuries, influenced by ancient Jewish thought and later Christian theology. The prayer emphasizes trust in God's care and the role of angels in our lives, serving as a reminder of the spiritual support surrounding us. Celebrated on October 2, the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels encourages believers to connect with their guardian angels through prayer, fostering a sense of security and companionship.
