The morning prayer for children is a simple yet meaningful way to start the day. It helps children connect with their faith and seek guidance.

History and meaning

The morning offering is a traditional Catholic prayer that consecrates the day to Jesus Christ. This practice, associated with the Apostleship of Prayer, invites individuals to dedicate their thoughts, words, and actions to God. Since 1929, the Pope has emphasized the importance of monthly intentions, focusing on a singular mission intention each month. This restoration by Pope Francis highlights the prayer's original simplicity and purpose. Over the years, various forms have emerged, allowing families and children to engage in this spiritual practice more easily.

When to pray

This prayer is typically recited in the morning, before beginning daily activities, or during moments of reflection and gratitude.

Full prayer text

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day. For all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for the salvation of souls, reparation for sins, and the reunion of all Christians. I desire to be a saint and to do Your will.
